Psalm 31:19-20 King James Version (KJV)
Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
John 16:33 King James Version (KJV)
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

My Prayer for the Day
"Heavenly Father..I am still amazed by the peace I have found in You! Please forgive me for trusting the things, vices and people of this world instead of You for as long as I did. Thank You for showing me that You are the ONLY way to peace amongst the chaos. Thank You for teaching me, through AA, how not to create more chaos on top of it. Thank You for the teachers you put in my life that chipped away at my consummate victim status to revel to me that I was the maker of my suffering. That I was responsible for what I allowed my mind to convince me of. That I was responsible for the action I took as a result of believing the lie. Thank you Jesus for conquering the world...I pray for those who still sleep...I pray Father that You use me for an instrument of good-Please help me to keep pride and ego dormant so that I may be of maximum service to You and my fellows. In Jesus name-Amen"

“An A.A. group ought never endorse, finance or lend the A.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems
of money, property and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.”
"THE moment we saw that we had an answer for alcoholism, it was reasonable (or so it seemed at the time) for us to feel that we might have the answer to a lot of other things. The A.A. groups, many thought, could go into business, might finance any enterprise whatever in the total
field of alcoholism. In fact, we felt duty-bound to throw the whole weight of the A.A. name behind any meritorious
cause. Here are some of the things we dreamed. Hospitals didn't like alcoholics, so we thought we'd build a hospital chain of our own. People needed to be told what alcoholism was, so we'd educate the public, even rewrite school and medical textbooks. We'd gather up derelicts from skid rows, sort out
those who could get well, and make it possible for the rest to earn their livelihood in a kind of quarantined confinement.
Maybe these places would make large sums of money to carry on our other good works. We seriously thought of rewriting the laws of the land, and having it declared that alcoholics are sick people. No more would they be jailed; judges would parole them in our custody."

Hil's blah
We have good intentions. But even the best intentions may not be God's will for us or them. I was STOKED when I found the solution-and hell yes, I wanted everyone to benefit!! Especially those I loved. I started to "sponsor" my sister, friends and boyfriend....They were gonna find God and become happy, joyous and free like me!! It doesn't matter actually didn't actually ask me to to "help" them ,but who cares... my intentions are good, right? Wrong. They did not give me spiritual consent to help them. So what I was doing was imposing my will onto them. Playing God.
When we run around trying "fix" everyone we are implying that the need fixing..how rude is that! But, I never saw it that way at the time. I just wanted everyone to have what I have. Another thing we have to contend with is our obsession of the mind part of of dis-ease. If I become obsessive over helping people then ego is involved. I have obsessed over my boyfriends state of dry drunk , that int nearly drove me crazy and made him worse. So again, even though our intentions my be pure in motive, they are still our intentions-not Gods :)
Big Book There is a Solution....Yeah!
"We, of ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, know thousands of men and women who were once just as hopeless as Bill. Nearly all have recovered. They have solved the drink problem."
Hil's blah-
Did they say recovered?!? Did they say that they solved the drink problem?!? Did they say nearly all?!?! That's a pretty bold statement in such a short sentence. They must have real confidence in this solution. What if you walked into the rooms of AA and the announced this with the same confidence that they are? Instead we hear half measure words like "recovering" "in recovery" "fear of relapse"
"My name is Hilarie and I am a Recovered alcoholic. You want to recover? Awesome...here is how it's done. Wonder if we all did that? Wonder what the relapse and death rate would drop to??
"We are average Americans. All sections of this country and many of its occupations are represented, as well as many political, economic, social, and religious backgrounds. We are people who normally would not mix. But there exists among us a fellowship, a friendliness, and an understanding which is indescribably wonderful. We are like the passengers of a great liner the moment after rescue from shipwreck when camaraderie, joyousness and democracy pervade the vessel from steerage to Captain’s table. Unlike the feelings of the ship’s passengers, however, our joy in escape from disaster does not subside as we go our individual ways. The feeling of having shared in a common peril is one element in the powerful cement which binds us. But that in itself would never have held us together as we are now joined."
"The tremendous fact for every one of us is that we have discovered a common solution. We have a way out on which we can absolutely agree, and upon which we can join in brotherly and harmonious action. This is the great news this book carries to those who suffer from alcoholism."
Hil's blah-
Alcoholics don't agree on much so that they ALL agree that this common solution works-then why not give it a shot? Harmonious action...there will be a lot of talk of "action" in the following pages. The solution requires action. A dormant alcoholic will start thinking too much if they aren't moving. We will innevable become irritable, restless and discontent and bring others down with us by becoming a vampire and feeding off them because ego has convinced us that if they would just do or give me more than I will be ok. People get tiered of being drained by our bottomless pit of wants and needs due to our lack of motion. Growing in God, serving others through sponsorship, study, walk, pray-These are the actions will ensure peace in our home.

As Bill See’s it
The Forgotten Mountain
When I was a child, I acquired some of the traits that had a
lot to do with my insatiable craving for alcohol. I was brought
up in a little town in Vermont, under the shadow of Mount
Aeolus. An early recollection is that of looking up at this vast
and mysterious mountain, wondering what it meant and
whether I could ever climb that high. But I was presently
distracted by my aunt who, as a fourth-birthday present,
made me a plate of fudge. For the next thirty-five years I
pursued the fudge of life and quite forgot about the
mountain.
