Meeting Share......

The topic of today’s meeting is the 4th Tradition, which states: “Each group should be  autonomous  except  in matters affecting other groups or A.A. as  a whole.” Definition of au·ton·o·mous (of a country or region)  having self-government , at least to a significant degree. "the federation included sixteen  autonomous  republics" acting  independently  or having the  freedom  to do so. "an a utonomous  committee of the school board" synonyms : self-governing, self-ruling, self-determining, independent, sovereign, free, unmonitored (in Kantian moral philosophy)  acting in accordance with one's moral duty rather than one's desires. Where else does any group/country/organization exi st where they act in accordance to moral duty, rather than one's own desires?? Everyone has an agenda in this world-we don't. Meeting Response  topic   of  Dry Drunk Syndrome So I am sharing a response to the topic of Untreated alcoholism from a while back....I am having furniture delivered so I am phoning this in. I haven't been consistent with my blog this week as I have my Step Son Ian here for Easter break. I want to wish each of you a wonderful holiday weekend! I love and appreciate you guys...more then you could possibly know :) Thank you _____ for your service and for this topic that really hits home for me as I once was one, and I live with one. He is kind, gentle, hard working, strong, loving..... yet, angry, selfish, self centered, self seeking fear based, shell of a man who suffers greatly because he chooses to. He is one of us without any program or armor from God. He dabbled in AA and was a meeting maker but it pretty much ended there. He lost weight, got a cool car and started dated tons of chicks-.So all that became his higher power....

The Spiritual Malady of Alcoholism The spiritual malady of alcoholism comes in different forms depending on the person. The spiritual malady of alcoholism is not unique to just alcoholics it is actually something that most people suffer from. The reason the spiritual malady of alcoholism is different than the spiritual malady for someone who isn’t an alcoholic, is that the alcoholic uses the drink or drug to deal with their spiritual malady in some way. The definition of a spiritual malady is: Malady means disconnect or separation. So therefore a spiritual malady is a separation or disconnect from spiritual things. This can mean a separation or disconnect from other human beings, spiritual principles, a spiritual higher power etc. Spiritual things are not merely religion but are defined by each individual uniquely as the guiding force in their lives-something that is greater than them or principles they live by.
